24 GOLD COAST AREA The Gold Coast Area (GCA) is the youngest HMCCQ Area, forming in June 2023. Starting with only four members, we are growing quickly and now have up to 20 historic bike enthusiasts attending our events. Our monthly meetings are friendly and informal and we welcome visitors and potential new members. We often go for a ride after the meeting. We also do our regular Tuesday ‘PJ’s Ride’ and Thursday ‘Iron and Resin Garage Ride’. As we grow we intend organising other events that will attract historic motorcyclists from across the HMCCQ Areas as well as enthusiasts from northern NSW. We also support other local events such as the annual ‘Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride’ and the ‘Cooly Rocks On’ Show and Shine. Our main objective at this point is to build a membership comparable with the other larger Areas of HMCCQ. Meetings are held on the 3rd Sunday of the month at the Iron and Resin Garage Café. Arrive at 9.00 am for 9.30 am meeting, followed by a light breakfast. We then decide whether to go for a ride or just stay and chinwag. Regular ride details: ‘PJ’s Ride’ starts every Tuesday at 9.30 am from the Man on the Bike Shopping Centre, Trees Road, Tallebudgera - route decided on the day. ‘Iron and Resin Garage Ride’ starts every Thursday at 9.30 am from the Iron and Resin Garage, 6 Stewart Road, Currumbin. Other local events attended by GCA members • Espresso Twenty5 Café meet-ups. • Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride - 19 May 2024, leaving the Iron & Resin Garage Café and riding to the Miami Marketta. • ‘Cooly Rocks On’ Show and Shine and possible swap meet, 8-9 June 2024 at Coolangatta. • Down South Rally, Ulmarra NSW in mid-September 2024 (date TBA).
