Life in the shelter isn’t so bad, but I dream of a home where I can be the queen. I’m a bit of an independent spirit, preferring to do things my own way. But don’t let that fool you, I’ve got a goofy side too! I’ll keep you entertained with my silly antics and unexpected playfulness. I’d thrive best in a home where I can be the only feline, soaking up all your love and attention. I promise, I’m more than enough cat for any home. If you’re looking for a companion who is both self-sufficient and full of personality, I’m your girl. Rose Animal ID:140574 | Greyhound | Female | 2Yrs 11 M | White & Black Rose is a sweet and gentle soul who’s ready to start a brandnew chapter in life. Having missed out on the comfort of a loving home until now, she’s looking for a calm and patient family who can give her the time and space she needs to settle in and truly blossom. While Rose is still discovering the joys of toys and the everyday rhythms of home life, she’s already showing us just how brave and fun she is! With a little love and dedication, we know she’ll thrive and become a cherished part of your family. Rose would do best in a quiet home where all residents are aged 8 and older. She’s also hoping to be your one and only pet – that way, she can soak up all the love and attention she’s missed out on. Mimosa, Rose and more wonderful pets are waiting to meet you at AWL Coombabah on Shelter Road, Coombabah. SATURDAY 12 JULY 10am - 3pm Just Joking! Little Johnny is constantly late for school and what’s worse is that he always has a big lie explaining why. The teacher tells the headmaster that she has had it with his exaggerations. He tells her to send Johnny to him the next time he shows up late. He will tell Johnny a lie so big that he will never tell another one. Ever. The next day, Johnny shows up two hours late. Johnny says, “I was two hours early today so I had time to fish in the pond on my way to school. I caught a 17-pound trout and had to take it home. If I didn’t clean it and freeze it, my mum would’ve been angry. That’s why I’m so late”. The teacher promptly takes him to headmaster’s office and explains the story to him. He tells Johnny about his own trip to school that day. He says, “I was walking to school through the park today when I heard something behind me. I turned around and was shocked to see a giant grizzly bear behind me. He was 24 feet tall and had 6-inch fangs. He was going to eat me, Johnny! Just then a little dog ran out from the bushes, jumped up and attacked the bear. The little dog killed the bear and then ate the whole bear right there in front of me. What do you think of that, Johnny?” Johnny replies, “Oh yeah, that’s my dog Sparky. That’s his third bear this week.” On Saturday 12th July the AWLQ Gold Coast Animal Rehoming Centre is hosting a FREE Open Day from 10am - 3pm and everyone is invited! • Live music • Food trucks • Marketplace • Kids activities • Pet lucky dips • Lucky door prizes • Information stalls • Pet Circle Major Raffle draw And of course all of our wonderful animals who are excited to see some friendly faces! While adoptions will be open, our AWLQ Open Day is our way of re-welcoming old friends and introducing new ones to our animal rehoming centres while offering a glimpse into the work that we do in supporting the animals in our care while they wait for their forever homes. As much as we love all furry family members, in the interest of the welfare of your pet and our animals onsite, we kindly ask you not to bring your own pet along to our Open Day unless scheduled for a meet and greet with one of shelter pets. Looking forward to seeing you there!
