The pool is heated to 32 degrees Celsius year-round, change rooms and toilets are located pool-side. (See advertisement back cover) Welcome to your December Newsletter. Well, we’ve reached the final month of 2025, how quickly the years are going. I hope this newsletter finds you happy and healthy and ready to celebrate the festive season, however you see fit to do so. For some it is getting together with family and friends, for others it’s having time out, with no hassle or fuss, recharging the batteries alone or in quiet, and for others it’s just another day/s. I wish you peace and happiness in whatever way you choose. Oxenford have their Christmas Party on Tuesday 16 December with a 7pm start, at The Meeting Place, Oxenford. Please come and join in and meet some of the locals, enjoy a relaxed atmosphere. We ask that all attendees bring a plate to share and BYO drinks. Tea and Coffee are provided. As mentioned last month, the Buy/ Oxenford Neighbourhood Watch Sell scams have been skyrocketing. This is when a person tricks you out of money by posing as a seller. If you are purchasing over the internet, you really need to do your research and be sure the item is for real and the seller is legitimate. Once you pay the money, there is little chance of recovery. As December is traditionally a time of year people take leave and go on holidays, its also important to remember your personal and home safety. Have a plan in place, have emergency contacts updated and let the people that matter know your movements. Be careful not to share your movements with the wrong people and be careful of posting if you are away on holidays and your house is left vacant. A few tips to consider: • Do not open your door to strangers, speak through the door, or always make sure your security door is locked and speak through that. • If someone comes to your home in an emergency wanting to use your phone, consider making the call for them and keep safe inside your house, do not invite strangers in. • Get to know your neighbours, utilise them as part of your safety plan. • Be aware of your home escape route, what doors and windows can you easily evacuate from. • Do not disclose personal information to anyone outside of your close circle of friends and family. • Make sure your medications are up to date and you have enough to see you through any shutdown or leave periods. • Stock up on nonperishables. With the last few years as an indicator, anything could happen with our weather and power resources. Well, that’s a wrap for 2025. I hope you have enjoyed reading my newsletters and whilst I am very passionate about fraud and scams, I hope you all got something out of my updates. I look forward to greeting you again in 2026.
