4 The Gold Coast will once again be the stage for one of Australia’s favourite free music events when the Groundwater Country Music Festival returns to Broadbeach from 17–19 October 2025. For three days the streets, parks and beachfront precinct will be filled with live performances, food, and plenty of opportunities for locals to enjoy top-class entertainment right on their doorstep. The combination of country music and a coastal setting gives it a relaxed but lively character. Locals can wander between stages, stop in at cafés and restaurants, or settle in the parks while the music flows. The fact that it is free and familyfriendly makes it even easier for residents to take part without much planning. This year’s line-up mixes wellknown names with emerging talent. Troy Cassar-Daley, one of the country’s most respected singer-songwriters, is set to deliver a performance that will connect strongly with Gold Coast audiences. From overseas, Jackson Dean brings his modern outlaw style and a catalogue of songs that have already made an impression with local fans. Brad Cox, The Wolfe Brothers, and Shane Smith & The Saints are also on the bill, promising everything from anthemic singalongs to strippedback country storytelling. Rising acts such as Lane Pittman, Sara Berki and Felicity Kircher, this year’s Toyota Star Maker winner, will give audiences a chance to see the next wave of talent. Adding to the local flavour, artists like Max Jackson, The Buckleys, Round Mountain Girls, Tyla Rodrigues and the Bo’Ness Brothers ensure there is a strong Gold Coast and Northern Rivers presence. Families can relax in the open spaces while children dance along, friends can catch up at the food stalls, and visitors and locals alike can discover new artists while strolling through familiar streets. With the convenience of Broadbeach’s transport links, dining and accommodation, and the quality of the program, there’s every reason to step out and make the most of this year’s festival.
