4 What a fantastic day was had by all at the 2026 Teddy Bears Picnic, proudly organised by the Rotary Club of Ormeau-Pimpama. Families from across the community gathered with their favourite teddy bears, creating a colourful and joyful atmosphere filled with laughter, fun, and community spirit. The event also raised funds in support of Variety The Children's Charity Queensland. The event was proudly sponsored by the Gold Coast City Council Division One Councillor and Deputy Mayor Mark Hammel, whose support helped make the day such a wonderful success. Children were delighted to take part in the everpopular Teddy Bears Parade and Best Dressed Teddy judging, proudly showing off their cuddly companions to the cheers of families and friends. There was plenty to see and do throughout the day, with a variety of stalls offering activities, treats, and community information for visitors of all ages. The slides and rides were a huge hit, keeping children entertained for hours, while the food vendors ensured no one went hungry, serving up a delicious range of meals and snacks. We even had a very special visit from Humphrey B Bear who continues to bring joy to all. Adding to the excitement were the impressive displays by the emergency services including Ormeau Fire Brigade and the Rocky Point Fire Brigade. Their presence gave families the opportunity to learn more about each of the emergency services while getting an up-close look at the equipment, which proved especially popular with the younger crowd. The Rotary Club of Ormeau-Pimpama would like to thank everyone who helped make this event another success.
